The best part about the Highway of Waterfalls is that there are several low impact hikes and pull-offs that offer stunning views of gorgeous cascading waterfalls. You can even hike Takelma Gorge on the Upper Rogue River and stop for a brisk swim during the warmer months. Takelma Gorge is an excellent spot for a relaxing picnic. It is important to be mindful that ticks are plentiful, the Rogue River’s current can be very powerful, and the mossy rocks that surround the water can be quite slick.
