Tips to stay healthy and happy in India

With this, we would like to tell you about the various issues that are often experienced by foreigners, as far as their health is concerned. So, the following tips will help you in taking the precautionary measures, while you spend quality time in India.

1. Hygiene matters

The most important thing is hygiene if you want to stay healthy while traveling. While India helps foreigners in maintaining their level of hygiene, an extra effort is required from the foreigner’s side too. For example, if you’re used to using toilet paper, it shouldn’t be a surprise for you to not find a toilet paper in toilets in India. This can be frustrating for you, but most of the Indians have alternative sources to clean the mess. With this being said, you need to learn about your surroundings and accordingly decide how can you maintain your level of hygiene.

2. Good food

Talking about food, you’ll learn that people in every state claim to have something or the other that can be considered as one of the best in the world. So, there will be a variety of food options available for you. However, if you have certain restrictions, make sure that you choose outlets where you’ll get the right food or let the chef know about your requirements before the food is made. For
example, if you have an issue with dairy products, specify the same in advance so that you do not end up cursing the restaurant and the country for the bad experience. This is also important for those who do not want to consume spicy food. Share the instructions in advance, and you’ll be happy with the food that is served to you.

3. Bottled water

Water can be an issue for you in India because there are claims that not every source of water in India is suitable for consumption. People in India might be used to it, but you should not take the risk of consuming the same. The best option available for you is to opt for bottled water. Bottled water is also considered to be the best option because water quality is not the same everywhere in India. So, opting for bottled water would be the right thing to do.

4. Avoid dust

While the sun shines brightly in India, we can protect our skin with sunscreen. However, the solution is not that easy when it comes to tackling dust in India. It has been a cause of concern for people in India as well. So, it would help if you took necessary actions in order to avoid dust to the extent possible. To start with, avoid walking on the streets where the sweepers are cleaning the paths. Apart from this, it would help if you made it a point to avoid visiting places that have not been cleaned for quite some time. Remember that visiting the place might be important for you, but happiness shouldn’t come at the cost of your health.

5. Weather conditions

Keeping an eye on the current weather conditions of the place before visiting it will help you keep health problems at bay. For example, if you have learned that the air quality isn’t really good in a particular city, it is better to avoid visiting that place, instead of pushing yourself to spend days there.
