“Firefall” at Horsetail Waterfall in Yosemite National Park

At first glimpse, the Horsetail Fall at Yosemite National Park, California, looks like a scene from a fantasy movie. But, it is an ordinary waterfall, which is illuminated by the sunset, that gives it a fiery glow.

Horsetail fall is a small waterfall, that was not a place of tourist attraction, until people noticed, that it looks like a melting lava at certain times. This incredible sight can be observed only at end of February, when the snow melts. Even then, being in the right place at the right time is important, as well as weather conditions. This spectacular scenery, is the result of the angle and intensity of sunlight, and temperature. Even, with a slight chance of witnessing the transformation, thousands of people gather in Yosemite National Park every year.
