An Eiffel Tower in the Wild Wild West, Paris, Texas
For those of you who know your geography well, you’d know that there isn’t just ONE Paris in existence. In fact, the US has a few cities named Paris. In homage to the name, these American Paris towns also have their own version of the Eiffel Tower, in order to suit the whole theme.
But what makes Paris, Texas so unique is, that its version of the Eiffel Tower has a cowboy hat on it.
Standing 60-feet tall, the replica in Texas was built in 1995, by Boiler Makers Local #902. This was before they decided to top it off with a western accent.
The metallic cowboy hat was added to the structure in 1998 by, a group of investors. Since, there was another bigger Paris in Tennesee and its Eiffel Tower replica was taller, creative Texans added cowboy hat.
If you don’t have a time to visiting the real Eiffel Tower, head out to see one of these replicas a little closer to home instead.
