The World’s Largest Outdoor Pool: San Alfonso del Mar

The pool was developed by Chilean company Crystal Lagoons, known for their expertise in creating large-scale, sustainable and multipurpose water features. The water used in the pool is pumped, filtered, and treated from the Pacific Ocean, ensuring that it is always clean and safe for visitors.

The cost of building this massive pool was not a small feat, early estimates put the total cost of construction at about US$ 3.5 million (€2.8 million) for the pool alone, but more recent, and perhaps accurate estimates are in the area of $1.5 to 2 billion USD total for construction and almost $4 million USD in annual maintenance.
