Wisteria Tunnel of Kitakyushu
There’s something magical about walking through a tunnel of whimsically beautiful pastel flowers. Kawachi Fuji Garden looks like a mystical fantasy land, which is full of purple blooming wisteria. These flowers are actually ornamental vines and come in various species.
The garden is home to almost 150 flowering plants, which create this breath-taking tunnel. It’s perfect for taking a landscape pictures, as well as portraits with the beautiful purple and blue backdrop. Timing is key when it comes to planning a trip to visit this garden. The best time to visit would be around late April or early May, during the Fuji Matsuri or Wisteria Festival period to see the wisteria plants in full bloom.
Since this is the best time to witness the wisteria tunnel, expect large crowds of visitors as well. To be on the safe side, you can book a slot in advance to visit the gardens.
