Chris Mark Castle: Connecticut’s Most Opulent Estate
If you have ever dreamed of being the proud owner of a lavish castle, you’re in luck. Steel heir Chris Mark recently put his luxurious castle on the market. Mark spent several years traveling Europe to gather materials from churches and chateaus so that he could build an authentic castle in Woodstock. Connecticut. Chris Mark Castle truly has it all. Amenities include—but are not limited to—a moat, a dungeon, numerous turrets, an authentic suit of armor, and a sarcophagus which may or may not contain the remains of a cursed mummy.
For a meager 60 million dollars, you can be the owner of a castle which includes a private theatre, a greenhouse, and a zoo. Chris Mark proudly raised camels, zebras, and emus on the castle grounds. The real estate company selling Chris Mark Castle will not confirm or deny the existence of bloodthirsty piranhas swimming just beneath the surface of the moat.
Some say that Chris Mark Castle is a little on the garish side but there is no denying that the interior includes some magnificent craftsmanship that is on par with some of Europe’s most impressive chateaus and churches. Chris Mark Castle features stately grandfather clocks, carved wooden arches, and ornate draperies fit for royalty.
I’m sure some of you are asking why exactly Chris Mark built a sprawling castle in Connecticut. Mark reportedly built the castle so that his dress-up loving daughters could grow up like real princesses.
