Istria is known for its truffles, which are retrieved at night by skilled truffle hunters in the Motovun Forest, purchased at very costly rates (white truffles may cost up to €3,000 per kg), and cleverly combined with pasta, rice, scrambled eggs, and steak. Unexpectedly, truffles may also be found in ice cream, honey, cookies, and liqueurs. To ensure that you eat tartufo vero in a restaurant that meets Istria’s rigorous standards, keep an eye out for the “tartufo vero” sign. On certain October weekends, Livade hosts truffle auctions, truffle cooking lessons, and a judging of the finest truffles. Prodan Tartufi is well-known as a family-run truffle hunting enterprise close to the medieval hill town of Buzet.

Anyone may enjoy this; Croatia is a favorite destination for wine enthusiasts worldwide, and a tour of the country’s vineyards is a must-do while there. At least 2500 years of wine history can be traced back to Croatia, making it one of the world’s most famous wine producers. The Istria and Dalmatia areas in particular are well-known for their winemaking because of the ideal conditions for producing various grape varietals in these areas. Indulge in a magical adventure across Croatia’s vast selection of wines, breathtaking landscapes, and centuries-old traditions on a wine excursion.

In Croatia, you can really let loose and have a good time. Clubs here keep going all night, beverages are cheap, and people of all ages and interests can find something to do. While we understand that not everyone is into this, we highly recommend visiting Croatia’s most renowned nightclubs and music festivals on Pag Island, Split, Murter Island, Hvar, Dubrovnik, or Brac’s Zlatni Rat beach if you’re looking to have a wild time.

Parasailing

One of the most iconic things to do in Croatia is to go parasailing, which allows you to enjoy the ocean while taking in breathtaking vistas of the Adriatic coast. In case you’ve never been, parasailing is basically just floating on a large balloon while being pulled around by a boat via a rope. Despite how terrifying it sounds, it’s completely risk-free and thrilling. We recommend a paragliding flight in Cavtat at sunset (located immediately south of Dubrovnik). Expect being treated with an extra-long ride, champagne, and picture ops by the firm.

Take a Photo at Game of Thrones Locations

If you’re a fan of the HBO series “Game of Thrones,” you may already know that Croatia was a popular location for shooting sequences. A Game of Thrones Tour would be the ideal way to see these locations and more while also seeing Croatia’s many other attractions. You may have a guided tour of the City of Qarth’s beautiful settings and historical landmarks while strolling the picturesque cobblestone alleyways of Dubrovnik Old Town, which was utilized extensively as King’s Landing. Many of the locations you’ve seen on film will be familiar, such as Pile Gate and the Jesuit Steps—now notorious all around the globe as the site of Cersei’s “walk of fame.” While in Split, take a stroll through the magnificent strongholds that make up Meereen, the city where many of the interior pictures were taken. From there, make your way to Klis, a little village where the exterior shots of its fortress, a towering medieval castle, were shot.

Try Caving

Caving is a popular activity in Croatia. There are caving spots all around the nation, and they range in difficulty from easy to quite challenging. When people think about Croatian caving sites, Modrica Cave comes first. Near the little settlement of Rovanjska, which is 30 miles northeast of Zadar, is where you may find the cave. The length of Modrica Cave is 829 meters. No artificial features, such as fences or concrete, have been inserted into this naturally occurring cave. The passageway may be small, but the rooms inside are really wide. As you make your way further into the cave, you’ll encounter many tight tunnels.

We hope you’ll take all this information into consideration as you plan your vacation to this amazing country. If you want to avoid the crowds but still enjoy beautiful weather, May and September are two of the best months to visit. Northern regions with forests are best explored during the warm autumns.
