Depending on the light and the season, Emerald Lake can appear so bright that you’ll swear you’re looking at the water through an Instagram filter. During the warmer months, visitors can follow an hour-long trail that loops around Emerald Lake or rent a kayak and glide across the lake’s serene waters.

Home to numerous breathtaking waterfalls, Yoho National Park counts Wapta Falls among its most stunning. A short hike through a verdant forest reveals this vast, thundering waterfall. The sheer force of the water will hypnotize you, even if you only gaze at Wapta Falls for a short time.

If you’re an avid hiker, consider hiking the Iceline Trail. This trail winds past rushing waterfalls, pristine lakes, and a majestic glacier. The Iceline Trail takes about 6-8 hours to complete, so it does require a bit of stamina and planning. The effort is certainly worthwhile, as the trail offers panoramic views of some of the most beautiful and distinctive terrains in Canada.
