Treasures of the Bavarian forest: the longest tree top walk in the world
The Bavarian Forest National Park shelters what is thought to be the most breathtaking top walk in the world. Located just outside the small town of Neuschönau, the unique creation is the longest tree top walk from all over the globe with over 1300 meters long, bringing the visitors up high to a breathtaking view of the Alps and the German forest.
The main feature that makes visiting this top walk an incredible journey is its design, which resembles a spiral. Visitors can only go by foot and walk their way up to the top – however, this requires a good physical condition. For those who are unable to walk, there is an alternative solution, as they can utilize the recently built elevator.
As the walk goes on, visitors are able to get a better view of the nature surrounding them. Even though being able to observe trees and to observe the Bavarian forest from above is a quite magical experience, the most breathtaking part of the journey is at the end of the top walk. Here, at 44 meters high, not only can visitors enjoy the view of the entire Bavarian Forest National Park, but somewhere near the horizon are the majestic Alps enlightened by the sun, ready to be admired.
The Neuschönau tree top walk can be visited any time of the year. This is considered to be one of the hidden German treasures of the Bavarian Forest and the 44 meters height turn this tree top walk into a unique experience in the middle of nature.
